Not every animal has the same qualities or abilities. It’s important to mark the differences, but focus on what they can do rather than what they can’t. Focusing on the negative won’t change the situation, it’ll only result in frustration. The importance of this is paramount when it comes to making connections- meaningful connections with those that we hold dear. Regardless of species, regardless of qualifiers, just the essence and presence of their identity and personality. With this comes understanding and with understanding comes the pathway to love. To understand someone else’s limitations can really go a long way. To connect with another in the same way is something of pure beauty. When we first meet Kano, you will understand what I mean.
Kano may not be like most hounds, he may not be able to do all the things that some dogs can do, but in that same token, I’m not a great singer. Some people are, some people baffle us with their talent, professionalism, and the culmination of their talents. Their hard work and dedication is seen and we appreciate that they went to such lengths to share their message with the world.
Kano is a bit different, but that doesn’t make him any less huggable or darling. We first meet Kano when he’s trying to howl. This seems like a basic requirement of most pack animals. From wolves to dogs, to lions. Roaring, howling, etc. for survival, for location, for communication. So when we see Kano try to imitate the dogs he hears? The result is pure gold.
