In music circles, a saying goes, ‘Shake a tree, and a drummer will fall out!’ This phrase has been created because so many people claim to be able to play drums. Not everyone can do it as well as they say. But, in this flashmob, everyone rocked.
However, in this performance, hundreds of drummers spread across a field of drum sets, and they all play the same beat to the famous Queen song, “We Will Rock You.’ Additionally, hundreds of singers gather to sing the lyrics in front of the crowd.
Hundreds of bassists join in, and there are all different ages, races, and types of people playing these instruments in harmony. It was the biggest rock flashmob in Central Europe!
The song of choice was Queen’s iconic hit ‘We Will Rock You,’ written by the band’s legendary guitarist Brian May. It was featured on Queen’s 1977 album ‘News of the World.’ The rhythmic ‘Stomp, stomp, clap’ has been a fan favorite over the years.
All over the world, stadiums play the song to hype up their fans at sporting events. At this performance, each musician and singer wore headphones that helped them coordinate their playing. It was like a giant rock symphony!
One commenter remembered the fantastic song this way, “I am in my early 50s, and I remember riding the school bus in elementary school. When this song got played on the radio, the whole bus of students instantly joined in with Freddie and the boys and stomped their feet and clapped their hands. So powerful of a song to unite everyone.”
Drummers, bassists, and singers of all ages have come together for this song once again to honor the greatness of Queen. It is powerful proof that music is a universal language as different cultures came together for this epic event.
