Few bands can rock like ‘Creedence Clearwater Revival.’ The group led by John Fogerty turned out hit after hit during their tenure as 60s rockers. Their fantastic version of ‘I Heard it Through the Grapevine’ is a soulful jam session.

‘CCR’ are wearing casual clothes, sweating, and smiling the whole time. John sings with his iconic, twangy voice. He’s sweating with his bowl-cut hairstyle but holding nothing back.
‘Creedence Clearwater Revival’ was born in 1967 after going through a few name changes. ‘Blue Velvets’ and then ‘Golliwogs’ were the previous names the band played under.

Their musical style was sometimes referred to as blues rock, southern rock, or even swamp rock. They sang about bayous, catfish, and the Mississippi River, and they featured socially conscious lyrics and rarely sang about romance.
Their rendition of ‘I Heard It Through the Grapevine’ is a soulful rocker. The song was previously recorded by ‘Gladys Knight & the Pips’ and ‘The Miracles’ as well as Marvin Gaye.

The song was number 1 on the Billboard R&B singles chart and number 2 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart while becoming the biggest-selling single in Motown history up to that point.
‘CCR’ included this song on their ‘Cosmos Factory’ album in the 1970s, and they also played it live in a few concerts. It is an excellent rendition that honors the Motown originals while adding some swamp rock!
Creedence Clearwater Revival never goes out of style. You can find it on Amazon if you're looking to revisit the good old days.
