Singing to your child can be a hit or miss process. It can make them calm and tranquil or it can make them really excited… which is what you don’t want if you’re trying to get them to go to sleep. It depends on the song that you choose too. A lullaby can get them to go to sleep but if they have heard it too many times… look out. Then there’s what this couple did for with their baby on a car trip.
Israeli couple Yoni and Nina have pulled their car over. Nina has their baby sitting in her lap in the front passenger seat. Yoni turns on the radio and they hear Matisyahu’s “One Day.” They immediately start harmonizing – it’s readily apparent that both of them have great singing skills and that they have done something like this before. They sound positively heavenly and they have an audience right there.
Their baby is positively beaming the whole time that they are singing. She’s picked up on the cheerful tone of their singing and it makes her happy. It’s almost as if she understands that her mommy and daddy want peace in this world and that’s what the song is all about. If she could speak at the time, she would be saying, “MORE! MORE!” There seems to be another child in the backseat who is used to their harmonizing.
This is far from the only song that appears on Yonina’s YouTube channel. Their message is one of hope and it’s good that they are raising their children with that kind of attitude, especially with the whole Israeli/Palestinian strife going on. “One Day” racked up nearly a million views in the first six months of its being uploaded. Here’s hoping they get over a million more. They deserve to spread their happy message.
