Have you ever daydreamed about leaving where you call home to live a beautiful forest, entirely away from everything you know? One man decided to turn that daydream into a reality by building his own cabin.
Going by the username “Canadian Castaway,” a man found a densely wooded area that he wanted to make his home. With his friends’ help, he was able to build a self-sufficient home for around $65,000.
The cabin can collect and store rainwater, there’s a wood stove for heat, and a large solar panel to provide the house with electricity. He was inspired to do this to be surrounded by what matters most in life regularly.
Inside you’ll find two lofts, a kitchen, a bathroom, a dining room, and a cozy hammock chair to enjoy the view. Canadian Castaway enjoys his off-grid home with his girlfriend, and wouldn’t trade the simple lifestyle for anything.
