Music lovers from all over the world enjoy listening to the incredible talent that comes from the musical group Gentri. When these three gentlemen experience a significant loss, they decide to record a spine-tingling version of “Be Still My Soul.”
This song is an old hymn that’s been sung for many years. One of the band members, Stephen Nelson, lost his mother to cancer in 2007. Understandably so, he decided to honor his mom’s life by performing a hymn during her funeral.
There’s nothing that hurts as much as the loss of a family member. Gentri did a beautiful job of covering the song. By singing lyrics like “Be still my soul when dearest friends depart, And all is darkened in the vale of tears,” Stephen felt peace after singing.
Nelson feels as if his mom will always be with him, even after her death. The band decided to record a version of the hymn as well to honor her memory. During the music video for the song, Stephen tells this painful and tear-jerking story.
