This episode of the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson aired in 1981. As Jimmy Stewart guested on the show, he read a poem dedicated to his deceased dog, Beau.
It’s a beautiful poem that every dog owner who has lost a best friend can relate to. Breathtaking but incredibly heart wrenching.
Stewart describes so beautifully the many sides of our dogs. How naughty they can be and how much headache they can cause. But on the other hand, how much they have made us happy for the years that they are in our lives.
Dogs will leave a hole in our hearts that words can never fill as they pass on to another life. It’s just how it is and no matter how painful it may be, the pain can never even out the love and joy that dogs bring into our lives.
