Two old friends enjoyed their ‘Wasted Days’ with a new music video that debuted on September 29. Hours after the song was unveiled, John Mellencamp and Bruce Springsteen made a video to rave reception.
‘Wasted Days’ previews John J. Mellencamp’s (John Cougar) upcoming 25th album. The country-rock legend teamed up with Bruce Springsteen for the first time in his career.
The song and the eventual video portray the brilliance of two iconic minds in the industry. With hundreds of fans waltzing to the melody, the video is undoubtedly as unprecedented as the song.

In the video, Mellencamp and Springsteen play cards in the kitchen before proceeding to the front of a garage. Under tree lights on an outdoor stage, both legends trade verses.
The melody takes the audience back into time and wasted days. The track is a riveting Americana song with an easy melody. It is the first collaboration between Mellencamp and Springsteen.
As seen in the video, the duo was on electric guitar. But the icons were not the only ones. Miriam Sturm with the violin could be seen as well as Troye Kinnett, the accordion player.
The video was filmed in New Jersey earlier this month and directed by Thom Zimmy. Verse after verse, the video moved from the mundane to the emotional, alternating the presence of a child with adults.
