Johnny Carson has hilarious interactions with birds on ‘The Tonight Show’

The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson was famous for its animal segments, and this compilation of bird interviews is hilarious. Many birds are featured on the show, and their interactions with Johnny have the audience in stitches.

Fans of the show are used to Johnny Carson interviewing people from all walks of life, but this time he mixes things up a bit. The video starts with him interviewing an intelligent and talkative bird named Freud.

Johnny asks the bird: ‘How do you call the kitty?’ At first, he repeats what Johnny says. After he starts to speak with perfect pronunciation and intonation: ‘Here, kitty, kitty, kitty.’

Johnny is flabbergasted by the bird’s reaction, and the audience is crying tears of laughter. Next up, viewers are treated to a talking parrot. His owner instructs the parrot to warm up his voice, and again, Johhny is left speechless.

The parrot alters its voice from high to low perfectly, almost like an opera singer. The parrot, called Poncho, continues to sing ‘Valley High’ from the musical South Pacific.

‘We got a winner here! We got a winner,’ an impressed Johnny alters. Johnny turns and stares at the audience in disbelief as the parrot continues to sing the song beautifully.

Following the parrot, we meet Suz, the talking Cockatoo. Unlike the other birds, Suz gives nothing back to Carson. Still, Carson manages to get some laughs out of the situation. All in all, a hilarious series of clips from ‘The Tonight Show.’
