You may remember how much Johnny Carson liked to laugh and have fun with his guests on the show. One episode with Burt Reynolds is one of the best. Burt Reynolds is introduced and comes out with his hands behind his back. To everyone's surprise, he squirts Johnny with shaving cream.
Then, Johnny takes the can of shaving cream and gets even with Burt by applying it to his leather pants all the way down the leg. The two comedians go back and forth, spreading shaving cream all over the other person. Johnny eventually puts some down on Burt's shirt in this friendly fight.
Burt pulls the ultimate trick by taking the shaving cream and squirting a lot of it down into Johnny's pants. They finally sit down and wipe off the shaving cream. The shaving cream fight was hilarious and occurs as they take turns getting the other person full of the cream.
Carson told Reynolds that knowing his sense of humor, he knew he would do something, but he didn't expect that. Then the two have a serious conversation about Burt's new movie as if nothing ever happened.
Part of the success of Johnny's show was that anything could happen, even something completely unexpected!
