Kenny Rogers fight backs tears while Dolly Parton sings ‘I Will Always Love You’

Dolly Parton originally wrote the song ‘I Will Always Love You’ when she left ‘The Porter Wagoner Show’ to embark on a solo career. But 40 years later, she sang the song this time in honor of her friend and fellow country musician Kenny Rogers.

Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers have been friends for a long time. And the two had undeniable chemistry when the two performed ‘Islands in the Stream’ back in the 1980s.

But it was Parton that paid tribute to ‘The Gambler’ himself when the two shared the stage. She sang to Rogers one of her first hit songs ‘I Will Always Love You’.

Naturally, Rogers himself fought back tears as Parton serenaded the country legend. Fans knew right away that the connection between the two legends was stronger than ever.

Sadly, Rogers passed away in March of 2020. But Dolly Parton will not be the only one that will always love Kenny Rogers forever.
