The Voice Blind Auditions are always an exciting time because of the suspense we feel in anticipation of the judges’ reactions to singers that are pretty much unknown.
In this performance, Holly Forbes delivers a stunning rendition of the hit song by Elton John, ‘Rocket Man.’
From the very first line, she grabs the attention of the first four judges, Ariana Grande, John Legend, and Kelly Clarkson. It takes a little while, but not that much longer, for the fourth judge, Blake Shelton, to also turn around.
Forbes is brought to tears in the middle of the song but does not let it affect her performance even a little bit.
After the performance, there is a little bit of joshing between the judges, as it turns out that Ariana blocked John Legend from being picked by Forbes. This is an apparent comeback for a previous time with Legend did the same to her.
Forbes was very emotional through all of this, stating that she’s “a cryer.” She also mentioned that her daughter was a huge fan of Ariana Grande and was watching from home.
In the end, all four judges were highly impressed by Forbes’ performance. And they were all vying for the opportunity to train her for the rest of the season.
