Kid’s Choir honors their Armed Forces parents with song on ‘BGT’

During an episode of ‘Britain’s Got Talent,’ Simon Cowell stops by a beautiful cathedral to see a children’s choir and share some good news. The kids freak out when they see Simon, and they stop rehearsing to listen.

Simon tells them, ‘I know a little bit about you. I hear that you’re a choir. I hear you’re a very good choir. And all of your parents have either served or are serving in the Armed Forces. And someone told me you might be the best choir in the world.’

He invites them to be on BGT, and they all jump up and down in pure joy! Simon asks them, ‘Are you ready?! Are you going to win?!’ The excitement in the room is undeniable.

They all appear on ‘BGT’ and introduce themselves as ‘The Voices of Armed Forces Children’s Choir.’ They are singing ‘Welcome Home,’ an original song written by members of the group. Their families are out on deployment, and the song’s lyrics express how they feel when they get home. Roughly 40 kids take the stage to sing and honor their Armed Forces parents.

The original song is catchy and energetic. They have choreographed moves that fit with the lyrics. Pictures of soldiers are shown behind them on the screen with the flag waving, and the audience is shown crying.

The song fades out into a breakdown with everyone clapping along. The group hits the final note and poses. Everyone stands to their feet, and they are in tears celebrating these kids and their effort.

Simon says, ‘What did I tell you?’ David Walliams tells them how proud he is of them for their bravery. Simon continues, ‘This is why I love doing this show.’ The kids get four ‘yes’ votes, and they all celebrate. Many kids are crying tears of joy. It is a feel-good moment on BGT that brought real emotion to the stage and the hearts of the audience members.
