It seems like the world just can’t get enough of Chris Stapleton these days. One listen to his classic country inspired tunes, and it’s no wonder why.

He joined forces with Tennessee native Kings of Leon at the 7th annual New Year’s Eve Bash On Broadway in Nashville to perform a startling rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s super hit, “Simple Man”.

”Simple Man” has been covered by countless artists over the years, especially in live performances. Even Skynyrd’s front man, Johnny Van Zant, says it is one of his favorite songs to do live. It’s even one of Skynyrd’s top three selling digital tracks, keeping pace with “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Free Bird”.

Performing such an iconic and well-loved song is no easy feat. Kings of Leon brought out the big guns when they brought Chris Stapleton to the stage in a surprise collaboration. Kings of Leon rocked the house with their powerful instrumentals, pairing perfectly with Chris Stapleton’s gravelly voice.

The combination was pure magic, a perfect way to ring in the New Year.
