On this date, September 9, 1991, the amazing singer Lauren Daigle was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. She sang so much as a child her mother nicknamed her ‘The Music Box.’

Her biggest hit came from the song ‘You Say,’ which was featured on the album ‘Look Up Child.’ The 2018 release earned her a number 1 spot on the Hot Chrisitan songs chart and a Grammy award. ‘Look Up Child’ also won Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
‘Look Up Child’ became the highest-ranking Christian album by a female artist since 1997. The album stayed on the charts for 129 weeks, which was a record for any solo artist.
Lauren has won seven GMA Dove Awards, 5 Billboard Music Awards, and 2 American Music Awards, and she’s had four number 1 singles on the Christian charts. These are incredible achievements for a singer who is still so young.
Lauren took a shot on the TV show ‘American Idol’ in 2010 and 2012. She did not make it to the finals, but her career has blossomed since then. Lauren was even invited to sing the National Anthem at the 2020 College Football National Championship.
She has used her fame to do acts of charity with the ‘You Say’ initiative collecting donations for children, the elderly, and the needy. She also participates in ‘Cure’ and ‘Food for the Hungry.’ Lauren is a truly talented singer with a big heart.
