Kruger National Park is one of the largest reserves of different species on the African continent. This video shows the mighty lion returning to his pride, the most powerful one in the region, after a long absence. But as soon as he sits down to rest, his boisterous cubs decide they want to play with him.
He has now proved that he has what it takes to survive. However, his success was not entirely due to his skills. The winter drought has left the Buffalos weak making them easier targets. Nevertheless, the young lion, for now, has a successful future.
However, far off from him, his mother is facing a lot of struggle. She is raising a new litter of cubs. The cubs are still 6 weeks old, have just left their den, and totally rely on their mother's milk.

Feeding 4 cubs are indeed taxing for the mother's energy reserves. However, if she is hungry, she would have to leave them alone. Because unlike other female lions who have their pride to support, she is a single mother with no one to help. Her pride split up recently.
The young adult lions from her previous litter were forced off to find a new territory of their own. On the other hand, the big male lion in the forest departs to patrol his range of hunting ground, around 40 miles.
The lioness soon decides to relocate with her cubs to avoid unnecessary attention. In a few months, she will start weaning them soon, and by a year and a half, the cubs would be all on their own. Finally, the cubs' father arrives in the territory. His return bodes well for the lioness and the cubs who need their support. The lioness heads towards the bellowing roar of the male.
The cubs follow the mother wherever she goes. They are also joined by the couple's adult daughter for a reunion. This is a significant moment in the cub's life as they will meet their father soon. The little ones are intrigued by their father. They still have not learned how to behave around the big male lion. However, the lion tries to be as polite as possible. They all are happy to be together as pride. The reunion is a happy one, and everything looks well for the family.
