What’s your favorite thing to do in this season? Many people like to go window shopping to see what the stores have to offer. One tradition that I have, that I do at least every other year, is go looking for a Christmas sweater to give someone of my family. The thing is that only one person in my family will get it, so when everyone is opening their presents, everyone is anxious to see who it will be.
One thing that my home never lacks is Christmas music. I have a massive collection of Christmas CDs and playlists that I listen to. I have even labeled them according to the occasion. So, for instance, if I need something for when my in-laws are visiting, all I need to do is reach into my drawer, and there it is. I have other CDs for when there are kids, or when it’s Christmas music to relax after a long day at work.
Do you have a favorite Christmas song? It is tough to pick just one. How about a favorite Christmas playlist? I sure do. For me, Christmas music must be a mixture of old and new songs. I know my kids and I don’t always agree with our musical choices, but even they love it when I play my special playlist. This song includes hits sung by the original singers like “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole.
I also include some songs by current singers like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys. So, there’s always something for everyone. If I had to pick one song as my favorite for this season, it would have to be “Last Christmas.”
The song “Last Christmas” is one of the most covered songs of the season. The reason is because of the song’s quality. Not many people know this, but the song was first sung by the group “Wham! Back in 1984. At the time, the group was with the famous record company called: Epic Records. The song even had a video clip to go with it, which at the time was quite the novelty, now the rule.
The clip takes place somewhere where it’s snowing and features the singers with their girlfriends. It is one of those songs that is very easy on your ears, but once you listen to it, you can’t get it out of your head. Many years later, it has been performed by some of the most famous singers of our time. I don’t know about you, but I think the song sounds much better when it’s sung by George Michael.
