Kimberly was mother to Olive, a sweet two-year-old girl with Down Syndrome. They lived in O’Fallon, Illinois. Recently, Olive’s mom shared a moment with her daughter in hopes that it would spread positivity into this world.
Kimberly showed how Down Syndrome children could bring happiness to their families and why it was so important to normalize Down Syndrome. The moment that she shared was about Olive’s 2nd birthday.
The parents had decided to get the little girl a baby doll, but they wanted to get her a doll that looked like her. So on her birthday, when Olive opened the gift from her parents, she was pleasantly surprised.
Her reaction was priceless when she received the specially designed doll that looked similar to her. Olive’s surprised reaction was evident on her face when she noticed the doll. She immediately gave the doll a kiss.
As the little toddler had Down Syndrome, most of the dolls the parents got for her did not resemble their beautiful daughter. So, Olive’s mom specially designed the doll to make it look like their little one.
Olive loved her birthday gift so much that she hugged her toy and gave it back pats. The little girl did this to her parents when she wanted to show them her love. Kimberly believed that any individual with Down Syndrome was essential, and they could thrive with proper tools and support.
She wanted the families of the children with Down Syndrome to fight for their little ones and make sure that they feel included, protected, and loved as any average child.
