Michelle was contacted by a local farmer about a pig with a litter. The mother pig had sat on her piglet. He could barely stand due to significant injuries to his limbs. However, he always had a great attitude. The piglet, named Chance, would flop around and keep his face up. He would always be smiling and wagging his tail like a dog.
Michelle knew she had to help this little one up. Chance was introduced to many dogs at the sanctuary, and they realized that the little being needed help. The dogs just wanted to be the piglet’s friends. Michelle was a bit worried at first.
The reason was that Chance could not walk or stand, and he just weighed 10 pounds. So, Michelle thought about what would happen when he grew up to be 40 pounds. But Michelle knew that he would grow really fast.
So, she started the pig’s rehabilitation treatment, which included various exercises. Within a few months, Chance began to walk on his own. It was quite a turnaround. He could climb stairs now.
Michelle would feed him in a specific position that made him work different muscles. The piglet had always been pretty fearless. He never cared that he never felt good. The little one always wanted attention and was happy to eat. Chance always looked at the positive side of things.
Now that he had grown up, he no longer had any limitations. He was happy to run around and play with the dogs. In addition, Michelle was fostering a German Shepherd who had become really close to the piglet. The piglet weighed 400 pounds now and enjoyed the best days of his life at the farm.
The big boy was still growing. Chance now lived outside all the time, roamed around the farm, and was mischievous. The pig loved the attention. Michelle thought it was special to have this relationship with this animal where you love them so much.
