Lonely Gander Meets Two Little Baby Geese for the First Time

A white goose leans over a clear container with yellow ducklings inside, near a person's hand in a grassy field.

Despina and Deivids are a happy couple who raise geese in their farmhouse in Latvia. At the moment, they have only one male goose who is getting pretty lonely. So they decided to introduce him to two freshly hatched baby geese.

The couple owns 3 goats and 2 goat kids, an adult female sheep, and two lambs. The other animals on the farm are 4 chickens, 1 rooster, a goose, and a cat. This young couple had decided to start a crazy but happy chapter of their life with these farm animals.

Recently they decided to adopt goslings who had just hatched out of the eggs. They already have a male goose Popo, so they wanted to adopt some more geese to accompany the male goose. Hence, they got two female goslings. They knew raising them would be a difficult task, but they were ready for them.

Gander meets two little baby geese

The cute little goslings met the couple’s male adult goose Popo, but they were unsure if he liked them. So, the goslings were cared for by Despina and Deivids. They kept them in a transparent plastic box that had hay-filled in it to keep them warm. They were given water and kept in the sun.

The gosling pretty soon got comfortable with the couple and cuddled with Deivids. At night their new home was light with a lamp to keep them warm. They would roam around the bed and enjoy their day. However, the gosling still had trouble balancing while they walked. A few days later, the couple tried taking the goslings to meet the goose Popo again. However, the couple still could not understand if Popo was trying to protect the babies or hurt them. So, they kept them separately and took the goslings to another part of the open field.

The goslings took a bath in the pool (the small plastic box) filled with water for approximately 15 minutes. The goslings loved it. After a few days, the babies met their adult friend Popo again. This time, it was evident that the male goose was trying to be protective but was confused. The goslings were now comfortable around the male goose and vice versa.

After a few days passed, Popo and the goslings enjoyed a watermelon together and roamed around freely. The gosling even met all the other farm animals. Despina was delighted that the goslings were growing well and had adjusted to their new farm life.
