Louisiana Man Goes Fishing Interstate to While Away Traffic

A man stands on a bridge railing, fishing, with vehicles on the road beside him.

An online video has surfaced to reveal a fisherman in Louisiana fishing amid the ongoing traffic. The man, stuck in traffic himself, comes prepared for the wrong turn of events with his fishing pole to make meals out of the situation.

It's the perfect illustration of preparation meeting opportunities as well as making light of bad situations. According to Fox, a wreck shuts down the Bonnet Carre Spillway for five hours, prompting the delay.

It's a collision between two 18-wheelers causing 50-60 gallons of diesel fuel to be spilled on the lanes. The resulting consequence is delayed traffic, with people unable to keep up with important events.

The lanes eventually open at 2:30 pm when everything is cleared. But it takes about 5 hours of waiting behind cars, losing track of moments and time, before vehicles start moving to their destinations.

Although no injuries are recorded, and there are no casualties whatsoever, the event of a man making the most out of the 5-hour delay leaves an impression on many people.

The man, whose name is unknown, casts his line over the bridge because his string can reach the water. He clearly intends to get a fish or two as bait until the authorities deem the lanes safe to run across.

Generating several reactions on social media, some people think they would probably do the same if they keep fishing rods in their trunks. Others believe life is a one-time offer, and everyone should use it well when privileged.
