Louisiana man rescues baby deer caught in Hurricane Ida

A man from Madisonville, Louisiana, saved the life of a baby deer that got caught in a flood near his house. Daniel Fears was home alone during Hurricane Ida and made the most of it by filming the situation around him on his phone. He also provided a hilarious commentary to keep his spirits up.

Daniel found many things to record during the hurricane. He filmed a table with all of his stuff floating down the street, an alligator hanging out in his front yard, and his solar light that was still working in the rain.

He then spots the petrified baby deer swimming through the floodwaters toward his already flooded home. He quickly jumps into his boat to rescue the poor deer, as an alligator is also seen swimming towards the little deer in the video.

Rescued baby deer

As the video progresses, we see Daniel trying to feed the ambling baby deer with blueberries. Then he feeds the baby deer a slice of watermelon.

There was a good man and animal bond between Daniel and the baby deer who followed Daniel wherever he went. These cute and adorable scenes were the best part of the video.

His incredible documentation of the incident is one of the best narratives in social media history. He had quite the menagerie to keep him company through the storm, including Buck, his dog, and two chickens.

Daniel’s upbeat and comedic approach to this harrowing situation is an excellent example of how to make the best of any situation. When the storm passed, the deer seemed intent on finding its momma.
