Sometimes all it takes is just a little bit of love and affection to change a dog's behavior forever. For an abused dog named Phoenix, this was undoubtedly the case.

A German Shepherd dog wearing a collar is looking out of a window, with its head and front paws visible.

Phoenix, who spent a large portion of his life chained up and abused, was given a chance at learning to love when Takis showed up to change his life.

The terrified Phoenix did not want to be touched at first. After multiple attempts at demonstrating love and openness, Takis convinced Phoenix that he was not a threat.

After some time, Phoenix rests his head in Takis's hand and can't get enough of his loving. At this point, Phoenix's life of abuse and mistrust has changed for good.

This story shows that it's not the animal's fault; it's usually mistreatment at the hands of a bad owner. Any dog can overcome aggression given the right amount of attention and affection.

It's heartwarming to see a dog receive this kind of affection and become willing to trust again. Phoenix will live his life out with only love, attention, and care.
