The Ed Sullivan Show always brings on the best guests from the acting and music industries. In this episode, Ed interviews Lucille Ball about her hit movie “Yours, Mine, and Ours.”
Ed Sullivan beams as he talks to the famous redhead. Lucille Ball has an exquisite charm and grace about her that absolutely captures the attention of anyone in her presence.
He congratulates her on the success of her film and invites her to perform one of the numbers from the movie along with the eighteen children who were her co-stars.
The curtain opens to a scene with multiple bunk beds and sleepy headed children in pajamas. Lucille counts each one, big and small, to make sure they are all there.
Organized chaos ensues as the entire ensemble sings the title song “Yours, Mine, and Ours.” Lucille comically tries to break up a massive pillow fight, while big kids pull the little kids on pillowcases.
Finally, Lucille scoops up one of the littlest girls and gives her a kiss on the cheek. Ed Sullivan thanks Lucille for being on the show and invites her to come back again sometime.
Lucille Ball was one of America’s most beloved actresses. It’s no surprise that she would make a guest appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show for all of her adoring fans.
