Teen Sings Tearful Tribute to Firefighter Dad On ‘America’s Got Talent’

With the horrific dangers firefighters face every day, this young lady got understandably emotional on “America’s Got Talent” while paying tribute to her father.

“My dad is absolutely, 100 percent my hero because he’s a firefighter,” the 15-year-old said after her breathtaking performance during the AGT quarterfinals round.

“His job is so incredibly tough, there are days where I am scared my dad won’t come home. I feel more pressure I just want to make my family proud,” she added.

The teen delivered an astounding performance with her beautiful rendition of “Issues” by Julia Michaels. Judge Heidi Klum called better than the original. “That is the best compliment I can give you,” Klum exclaimed after presenting her golden buzzer winner with a standing ovation.

“It was better than the original, this is really where you belong,” Klum proudly said. “[Makayla] had this very special something, this star quality,”

Simon Cowell concurred. “This was way better than your first audition, you sang that song really well,” he said.
