Mama Giraffe Gave Birth To A Little Calf. Now Watch How He’s Taking Charge At San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo celebrated centennial this year. But that is not the only special thing going on for them. This year on the 25th of May, the zoo got a new family member in the form of a very adorable giraffe calf. This precious baby has been grabbing the attention of many people, and lots of them visit the zoo in order to admire him.

The little guy is healthy and he came into the world standing 6 feet tall and weighing around 146 pounds. Not very large, right? Compared to his mom, Harriet, and the rest of the giraffes, the youngster is quite small. But what he lacked in size, he compensated with his enthusiasm. You will be smiling from ear to ear when you see him!

Watch this little guy frolic and play in his enclosure at the San Diego Zoo. He’s getting around pretty good for being so young and having such long legs and a long neck to control. It looks like he is full of energy and running around, stopping to nuzzle mom every now and then.

My favorite part is when he gets hungry and comes to mom, getting some milk to drink. Giraffes are big when they are born, although maybe not in comparison to the adults, but they need a lot of milk and nourishment to stay strong and healthy. He’s so cute and mom waits patiently.
