Monterey Bay Aquarium is one of Monterey, California’s most prominent tourist destinations. However, it is famous for the marine life of Monterey Bay. The aquarium had beautiful sea otters, pulsating jellies, sharks, and waddling penguins.
Recently, one of the otters at the aquarium gave birth to a little one in the aquarium’s open-to-the-ocean Great Tide Pool. The pool was situated right off the back deck of the aquarium.
The onlookers at the aquarium were excited to witness such a beautiful thing happening in front of them. Suzi Eszterhas, a 40-year-old nature photographer, instantly started capturing the beautiful moment of the mother and her pup.
The mother otter was cuddling with the little baby while she swam without effort. She laid on her back and had the newborn otter resting on her belly. She acted like a raft for the little one and tried to protect the adorable pup from the strong ocean waves.
She kept on kissing the pup and even rested beside the rocks. At one point in time, when the mother and baby were separated, the little one floated in the water but got splashed around by the strong ocean current.
The caring mother quickly returned to the pup and made the little one rest on her belly again. Then, after a long swim, both the otters climbed up the rocks and took a nap underneath the beautiful sky.
The onlookers were impressed by the mother’s caring nature as she swam to her pup and checked on her kid continuously. It was adorable to know how caring and responsible wild animals can be.
