Man Rescues Rarest Ducklings on Earth Saving Them From Extinction

A hand holds a speckled egg on a grassy field.

Hundreds of years ago, duck eggs were considered to be very important. Particularly one species of duck was very famous for the production of eggs and the way it looked. It was the HookBill Duck. There were millions of HookBill ducks, but now they are on the verge of extinction. Now only 80 egg-laying female ducks are alive.

This is unfortunate that the species once found in abundance is now on the verge of extinction. So, Alwyn Wils, an animal lover, took the initiative to visit the person raising the Hook Bill duck. He finds 4 eggs and decides to raise them in the incubator. Raising these eggs needs special treatment. They need to be cooled down every day for 10 minutes.

Alwyn raises all the eggs with proper care, but only 3 of them show signs of life. Finally, after 28 days, the baby ducklings hatched one night. The first egg that hatches is a female. This makes Alwyn very happy. He takes care of her and holds her in his palm. On the following day, a yellow baby duckling was born. He keeps both of them in the incubator.

Both the young ones seem to be healthy and are comfortable around Alwyn. He now decides to let the baby duckling go for a small swim in his kitchen sink. However, there was a problem with the third duckling. It seems to have balancing issues.

However, Alwyn has been caring for ducklings for almost 30 years and decides to treat the young one suffering from problems. He kept the baby in a small plastic box with some paper tissues to warm the little one.

He had also covered the body of the young one with a sock. The duckling was pretty comfortable in the incubator for the night. The following day, he brought the duckling out in the open.

The baby duckling could now walk perfectly and enjoy the regular swim in the customized glass pool made by Alwyn. All 3 young ones eat and swim perfectly well. After 3 weeks of continuous care, they have grown up pretty well and are enjoying their life.
