Man Stands Inside Shelter With Cat Nearby. I Was Cracking Up At What They Did Next.

Trying to come up with a creative commercial that gets people to come out and adopt animals is hard. Most of them show sad animals and are like “You MUST save this dog from sure death!” Then there’s the opposite: a commercial is for Furkids, a shelter that houses both cats and dogs and is located in Atlanta, Georgia. The star of all this is owner Paul Preston, who clearly has a zest for life and a creative streak. You have got to see this video. I was laughing the whole time.

The jokes fly fast and furious here. They range from computer jokes (“Our newest models are compatible with Windows” while he looks through a glass door at some kittens) to size jokes to eating jokes. Preston is a ball of energy and he livens up the whole commercial. Also, the fact that he gets to hold a lot of cats makes me very jealous of him. He also ropes in his sister at the beginning and a volunteer plays one of those inflatable wavy dolls that you see outside garages and other places.

Seriously, this was the most creative commercial that I’ve ever seen. Especially for a local company, which tend to have a cornball air to them. It’s obvious that a lot of thought went into what they would say and do. Although it was shot on a budget and some of the lighting wasn’t the best, it still won me over. If I live in Atlanta, I would have been going over there to visit in a heartbeat.

Usually when I’m watching TV, I want the commercials to be over really quickly. This was one that I didn’t want to end. Maybe if more people made commercials like this, I might consider buying their products. Hmmm. Just a thought. In the meantime, I hope Preston comes up with even more commercials for Furkids. They should get a lot of attention if they do that. Anything that helps cats and dogs get forever homes.
