The Marcus King Trio lit up the studio at Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville, performing a brilliant rendition of their song ‘The Well.’ The star of the video as always was Marcus King.
Playing a 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard – a vintage guitar worth nearly 300k – King crushed several guitar solos, showing the musicianship and inspiration that has made him a growing star in the rock scene.
His band was right there with him, with bassist Stephen playing a 1954 Fender Precision Bass. The performance was raw, gritty, and everything you’d hope to hear from musicians on the top of their game.
The song lyrics were exceptional as well, perfectly constructed poetic lines that fit seamlessly within the rhythm of the music. It is a song that requires repeated listens to hear all the nuance.

But the star of this video, of course, is Marcus King. He possesses rare talent and charisma with the instrument that cannot be faked or duplicated. King is the real deal and plays the guitar with energy and precision.
Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville must have been thrilled to partner with the Marcus King Trio on this day, as King shows off the arresting power of the 1960 Gibson and really makes it sing.
For fans of vintage guitars or simply fans of fantastic country and rock music, there may be no finer group out there right now than the Marcus King Trio, and few videos to better showcase their skill than this one for ‘The Well.’
