Horses rarely give birth to twins. The odds are 1 in 1000 for a mare to deliver twin foals. It becomes a blue moon event when the twins survive to adulthood.
Scared by the insensate hands of life and left with one eye, a mare did the impossible. Pearl, a beautiful mare, was strong throughout her pregnancy. Her owner didn't suspect she would have twins.

Snip and Drip, the twin fillies, received adequate medical care after their birth. Nicole Kumpfmueller gives them antibiotics as early as 6 am, or 8 am with no time to spare.
Veterinarian John Maxwell, with over 50 years of caring for animals, was blown away. He has never seen twin foals live past several weeks. He deemed Pare and her young boys a miracle.
After several weeks of 24/7 medical attention, the family of 3 is in good spirits. The foals are vibrant, enjoying chewy vegetable meals. They are grateful for their caregivers.
