‘MASH’ brought us the exciting relationship between Frank and Margaret (Hot Lips) over the years. Their bond and humor elevated the show, and their memorable scenes are captured in this montage.
The first clip shows Frank speaking lovingly to Margaret, saying, ‘Oh Margaret, you don’t know what it does to me being near you all day in surgery, only able to touch you through rubber gloves.’
There’s a great scene when Frank walks into Margaret’s tent, and he thinks he’s biting her on the neck only to realize it is Corporal Klinger. The two jump back in disgust.
Margaret walks in, and Klinger explains that he just wanted to borrow her hair salon stuff. Frank yells out to him, ‘You get out of here, you pervert!’ Klinger responds, ‘Pervert? Who bit who, Major?’
In another clip, Frank tells a company of gathered soldiers, ‘Talking to the Major (Margaret) is the same as talking to me since we are intimate together at all times!’
In a scene where Frank is relieved of his command, he puts on a brave face, and Margaret tells him how proud she is of his behavior. When they get back to the tent alone, Frank throws a tantrum.
He screams ‘No’ repeatedly while pounding his fists on the bed. After yelling at Margaret, ‘You’ll all be sorry when I’m gone, you’ll see!’ he holds his breath like an angry toddler. These scenes remind us all what a great ensemble show ‘MASH’ was during its eleven-season run!
