Mat and Savanna Shaw Join With a Children's Choir to Sing Christmas Classic

A woman in a dress and a man in a suit sing in front of a choir in a festive church setting.

Five years after their euphonic “White Christmas” performance, father and daughter duo Mat and Savanna Chaw came together with the Rexburg Children’s Choir to sing the wintery Christmas classic “Believe.”

I see a close-up of a white Christmas tree with frosted branches and twinkling lights.

This music video, which came out on Youtube at the end of November to herald the winter holidays, begins with atmospheric shots of snow-dusted trees and Christmas lights as jingle bells chime.

The camera transitions to slow shots of smiling children dressed in matching white and red. As one, the children begin to sing, their voices soft and coaxing. Listening, it’s impossible not to imagine snowflakes settling gently to the ground.

A group of children in white and red choir outfits sing in front of a festive background.

As the voices around him fall silent, Mat begins to sing in the clear and vibrant baritone for which he is known. He walks in front of the grinning children, and turns, settling into a stool at the front.

In the next verse, Savanna enters, joining him at the front, and finally, the two take up the melody together, backed up by the growing strength of the Rexburg Children’s Choir.

As the song shifts again, rising into its crescendo, child and adult singers alike plea for the listener to “believe in what your heart is saying. Hear the melody that’s playing.”
