Italian singer-songwriter Matteo Bocelli is making a name for himself through his music, particularly his latest song, 'Solo.' The music video received over 300K views in the first week!
Matteo is the son of famous Italian tenor singer Andrea Bocelli. He is following in his father's footsteps with a music career that is already quite prolific.
His first taste of stardom came when he sang the Disney theme song Fall On Me from The Nutcracker and the Four Realms movie. He also began making stage appearances at some of his father's concerts.
The song 'Solo' is officially Matteo Bocelli's first single and was produced by Grammy winner Jesse Shaktin for Capitol Records.
The video was shot in the picturesque Dolomite Mountains in Italy and features only Matteo crooning his hit single. It signifies his solo venture into the music industry, following his own ambitions rather than his father's footsteps.
According to Andrea, he wasn't that pleased that his son wanted to be a singer. He said, "Some time ago, Matteo revealed that he would like to follow in my footsteps, so to speak. For a parent, it is… it's difficult to understand and support because I know all the difficulties of the job very well. And to those, he will need to add the difficulties of being the son of an artist."
It could be seen as ironic then that only 18 months later, the two of them sang Fall on Me, propelling Matteo into the spotlight.
