Many children follow in their parents’ footsteps as they enter adulthood. Parents pass on family businesses and mentor their children in their chosen trades. Andrea Bocelli must have done the same with his son, Matteo.
Andrea Bocelli is a world-renowned opera singer. He is a tenor and plays several instruments. Bocelli has received numerous awards for his music, including lifetime achievement awards.
Bocelli’s son, Matteo, rose to fame when he sang “Fall on Me” with his father. The film ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’ played the song over its end credits, and a music video was released the same year.
Matteo is now pursuing his solo music career. He appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show and performed his newest single, “Close,” with a small band featuring a keyboardist, drummer, and electric guitarist.
“Close” is a love song about facing the challenges of life with your lover by your side. Matteo sings, “I think as long as we’re together / We can take it, good or bad.” He tells his partner that he’s in love with them.
The chorus tells the lover if the world is too much to shoulder, to “just keep me close, close, close, close.” He doesn’t want to be pushed away when the stresses of life come. Instead, he assures his lover he can be trusted, and he’ll provide stability.
Matteo starts the song sitting on a stool. By the end of the upbeat track, he’s on his feet, full of joy and hope. His bandmates are also rocking out, and everyone is having a really good time with a great song.
