Maude is a sassy friend who always has a quick comeback or witty remark. She meets her match when her aunt Lola visits and dishes out the humor in kind.
Maude is excited for Vivian and Arthur to meet Lola. Maude always idolized her aunt and sometimes even wished Lola was her mother instead. The two are cut from the same cloth.
Maude’s husband, Walter, isn’t as thrilled that Lola is in town. He recalls that Maude’s aunt refers to him as Baldy, much to his chagrin. Maude herself decides to take up the name-calling.
You will already be laughing before Lola descends the staircase to grace us with her presence. Although after her grand entrance, you won’t be able to stop rolling on the floor clutching your sides.
When Lola is questioned about her facelift, she denies ever having one. Maude asks her to be honest about how she looks so young. Lola says she lies about her facelift.
The whole crew chuckles at the joke. Lola is an instant hit. It’s easy to see where Maude learned how to make quick jokes and unapologetic comments. Lola and Maude are two peas in a pod.
