The Man Who Made Simon Cry Strikes Again on ‘America’s Got Talent’

We’ve seldom seen Simon Cowell cry before. When it happens, it instantly becomes world news. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, those tears are like a weather-vane that point to budding fame and fortune.

That’s exactly what happened last week on ‘Americas Got Talent’ last week when mild-mannered pediatric nurse and father of five doting children Michael Kettering made Simon break down in tears, but nothing could prepare us for his latest emotional song.

This time, Michael sang Miley Cyrus‘ “When I Look at You” and while Simon didn’t cry shed a tear this time, he stands firmly behind his own Golden Buzzer pick at the start of Season 13 of AGT.

Simon addressed his “golden” protege in a fatherly fashion, “Just when I think you can’t be any nicer, I see what you do at work. I want to give a shout out to Garth Brooks to write you a song for the finale to make your dreams come true.”

Mel B replied, “You really touch my everything. You are talking to me, you are singing to me, you do the mental health, I suffer from that, too. I want you to go through so I can hear that voice again.”

Heidi Klum was a woman of few words that night. You could see the how Ketterer’s performance was still holding sway over the judge, but she added, “I feel every time we see you, you become better. Your wife, your kids everyone around you must feel very special.”

Howie Mandel offered a zen-like compliment, “You show up in life. You deserve every hope and every dream to come true. America deserves to be watching you far beyond this show.”
