It’s been a little over a year since the divorce of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton. While there has been controversy and whispers in the press about the reason for the split, both sides of the previous couple have maintained positive views on each other, at least in public.
Blake was the first to break radio silence about the divorce, and Miranda released her first interview not long after, in the December 2015 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine, where it was featured as a cover story.
Lambert has nothing but praise for her ex-husband in the interview. She admits to the magazine that they did everything they could to make their marriage work. “Marriage is a tough business, and we gave it our best college try,” Miranda explained.
While she didn’t make much comment as to the specific reason for their split, Miranda did speak more about her ex. “I had a great relationship with an amazing man,” the singer said, “so I know what good is. I have a great launching pad for the future. I will never take that for granted.”
If only all divorces could end with both partners having such good things to say about one another. We hope Miranda finds true love in the future, and we’ll continue enjoying her music in the meantime.
