Car accidents are extremely brutal because in a matter of seconds, someone’s world can turn into an utter tragedy. If you have ever been in accident, or have any acquaintances that have survived this experience, you know this to be true. Kristen Hiebert was driving in the middle of the night with her 4 year old daughter Avery when her car lost traction and skidded off the road into a deep snow embankment. Because Kristen lived in Manitoba, Canada, and it was winter there, temperatures were around negative 20 degrees. Kristen knew that if she didn’t keep her daughter warm, she would perish.
As the hours dragged on, Kristen decided that the only way she could save her daughter was to leave and find help. With broken arms, a broken neck, broken ribs, and even a broken leg, Kristen painfully crawled out of the car towards the road. Fortunately, Kristen’s cries for help were heard by a woman named Tina Dubyts that was driving to work that morning.
