Pups and babies make the cutest combination possible, don’t you think so? It’s tough not to contain yourself when you have all that cuteness in such a small package. When I had my first baby I was a little concerned with the type of relationship my dog was going to have with her. After all, my dog had been my only baby since he was given to me by a friend.
His name was Terry and he was a French Poodle. When my friends found out I was having a baby, they told me to be careful. One of them mentioned that Poodles were very jealous dogs and that I needed to keep a watchful eye when both were in the same room. I didn’t really know what to make of it. I didn’t want to believe that could be possible.
I’ve had dogs all my life and one thing that I know is that dogs are not evil. So, the day finally came, and we brought my daughter home. I remember Terry saw her and he became curious. Clearly, her smell and ours were totally different. Terry got closer and sniffed her once more. He then barked softly as to acknowledge what was going on.
A few minutes later, the baby woke up and Terry wanted to lick her face, but we didn’t let him. I didn’t know much about babies back then because my daughter Amy was my first, but I wasn’t taking any chances. My daughter noticed Terry and she wanted to touch him. Maybe it was the fact that the dog’s fur looked like the one from a stuffed animal.
They grew very fond of each other. There wasn’t a single incident when my dog turned aggressive towards my daughter. He seemed to know instinctively what my daughter’s place was in the family. For my daughter, Terry was like her friend. She would carry him all over the house. She even wanted to take the puppy with her when we had to go out.
Much like the baby and her dog in the following video. The mother watches how the pup goes into the baby’s crib. The mother is just trying to be extra careful with her baby and tells the pup to get out if the crib. When she does this, she is not prepared for the awesome dose of cuteness that’s about to follow. See for yourself just how adorable this pup is!
