Momma Zebra and her foal

The area has a diverse habitat that has grasslands, swaps, woodlands & kopjes. The wildlife that can be seen here in abundance, apart from lions' pride, are gazelles, zebras, buffalos, and the blue wildebeest.

The name "Serengeti" is derived from the word "seringit" which means "endless plains." Serengeti -BBC is a six-part series based on the lives of animals living in the Serengeti plains. The show also goes by the same name, "Serengeti."

It gives a glance at the day-to-day experiences of the wild animals and shows the problems of these animals. For example, the Serengeti II shows an event in the life of the Zebra called Shani. She is the leader of her family and is followed by her foal, the stallion Punda and the rest of the family.

Due to the flood, her family is migrating to higher land. Unfortunately, they are stuck in the maze of rivers. It becomes Shani's duty to guide the rest. While attempting to cross the river, she gets swept away in the current. However, she swims back to the shore and is embraced by Punda. At last, these beautiful striped Zebra's find a safer way to cross the river.
