Mr. Tudball tries a guessing game with Mrs. Wiggins’ card. He loses again and exclaims, ‘Trying to beat you is like trying to waterski behind a rowboat!’ Mrs. Wiggins starts to leave, and the phone rings with a call from Mr. Tudball’s wife. He begs her not to tell his wife about the gambling.

Mrs. Wiggins covers the phone receiver and suggests lying to his wife. He says he can’t lie to his wife because he will start to ‘st-st-st-stutter.’ Mrs. Wiggins asks him if she should tell his wife about what they were doing or if she should just leave for her two-week vacation.
