Did you know that sheep and goats are actually very closely related? Before practices like selective breeding took off in farming almost all sheep had hair like goats do today and goats had wool. It was only after man named Robert Bakewell introduced selective breeding as a practice that the two forms, sheep and goat, began to separate in any meaningful fashion.
What that means is that sheep and goats can still be interbred with one another. “Geep” are rare but they do exist. This hybrid species was first recognized in the year 2000.
Butterfly, the geep featured in this video lives at the petting zoo in Arizona. This rare hybrid species is a huge attraction at the petting zoo. The very beautiful creature is a huge kids favorite.
