Musical Family Goes Viral
There is a huge family gathering at the home of the LeBaron family of Fruit Heights in Utah. They are crowded into the living room on Easter Sunday, all making a contribution to a joyful performance of the hit song, “One Day More”, from the popular Broadway musical, “Les Miserables”.
This is not just Karaoke on an epic scale, this is real talent. The ensemble is loosely made up of the five LeBaron siblings with their partners plus various assorted babies who play a non-singing role.
The character Jean Valjean is sung by Jayson LeBaron with Landon LeBaron taking the role of Javert. With strong contributions from the rest of the gathering, together the family could almost make up the entire cast of the Broadway hit show themselves.
In a local TV interview, Jayson LeBaron said they had all grown up singing together as a family and they had married musically oriented people. They were involved with musical theatre and regularly performed at Highschool and at college.
Everyone in the family can sing like a pro with rich voices perfect pitch and feeling. That this is all in one family is beyond belief. And I love that the young children are listening intently. They’ll grow up thinking all families can do this. I understand this video was made as a Mother’s Day gift at Mom’s request. Bravo, Mom, for making this request and bravo, kids, for doing such an outstanding job!
Their performance is nothing short of astounding. To have so many good voices in one family and perfect for this genre of theatre is extraordinary. Anyone looking to do Les Miserables for their next show? Better yet…anyone looking for an entire cast? Broadway, here they come!
You won’t be able to stop watching this video, and if you don’t replay it at least once, you’re crazy. Everyone can sing like a pro: rich, full voices with perfect pitch, diction, feeling; and singing with the gusto and grandeur befitting this piece. I love the high soprano soaring into the stratosphere at the end. That this is all in one family is beyond belief.
