Not the most efficient way to sweep a goat barn, but very entertaining!

Jay Lavery is a farmer in Upstate New York who has made quite a name for himself on the internet. He’s done it by dancing. In a barn. With his goats watching. Jay is just past 50 and yet he’s pretty good at busting out the moves. Although, when a reporter asked about how he became so popular, Jay modestly replied, “I can’t really explain it. I know it’s not my spectacular dancing. It’s just an old man wiggling.”

We really have no way of knowing what the goats think of it, but turning on the music and dancing may help motivate Jay to get the barn swept. However, some music gets him going to the point that he drops the broom and focuses entirely on the dancing. Rihanna, for one.

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, better known simply as Rihanna, went from being an unknown amateur singer in Barbados to one of the biggest stars in the world. It all happened very quickly after she was discovered by a record producer in 2003 when she was still in high school. She was soon recording demo tapes and by 2005 started becoming seriously famous. Rihanna has since become one of the best-selling musicians ever. Among her many other awards, she’s earned 9 Grammys.

The Rihanna hit that had Jay dropping his broom was “Pon de Replay,” the first song on her 2005 debut album “Music of the Sun.” It’s a mix of dance pop, reggae, and some rhythm-and-blues. The central theme is asking a DJ to turn the music up (incidentally, the song’s title means “play it again” in Barbados dialect).
