Can you imagine being a part of a street performance where over 15,000 people are in attendance? The singing, dancing, and camaraderie alone would be enough to lift anyone’s spirits.

The largest-ever performance of Steve Earle’s song “Galway Girl” took place in the streets of Galway, Ireland. The alleys were packed with smiling faces, and everyone had a good time.

The entire crowd joined in, singing the lyrics to a song they knew well. They could all identify with the beauty and sweet disposition of the black-haired, blue-eyed girl from Galway.

As the band in the center of the performers played their instruments and sang the famous song, Irish step dancers and lively couples danced in time with the catchy beat.

People from all over the world gathered to celebrate together. There was not an unhappy face within the entire crowd as they came together to sing about a Galway girl.

The flags of Galway were waved heartily in the streets. Children danced and swayed to the music. Couples laughed and sang along with the lyrics they all knew so well.
