By switching out the panda cubs, the mother can focus on one at a time and therefore care for both. But the whole time, this panda is under the impression that she only has one cub.

The caretakers carefully switch the twins in and out of her cage, requiring tons of patience and trust from the mother panda. The twins are swapped in and out up to ten times a day.
