Non-profit animal rescue organization Hope For Paws got a report telling them about dogs living in a sewer tunnel. Initially there were two, but unfortunately one of the dogs drowned earlier that day due to a rainstorm. When they arrived at the scene, they saw the remaining dog and followed it through the tunnel. The poor dog was visibly scared from humans, but they rescued him somehow.
They decided to name him Bitty. Bitty is an adorable mixed breed that had been living in horrific situations, but thankfully, he is now with a loving foster home. Other strays don’t have such a happy ending, for example, Bitty’s friend.
It is estimated that over 70 million stray dogs are wandering around in the United States alone. So, tragic stories like these are not very unique. We must do our part and help these animals in need. This poor boy ran from Eldad in the tunnel, but reached the end and was trapped. Eventually, Eldad was able to approach him and pet him.
Eldad carried him out of the filthy tunnel. The poor thing was so skinny. Two hours later, he was getting a bath and eating from their hands. In the course of two hours, his whole life and his whole demeanor had changed. He went into a foster program with The Forgotten Dog Foundation where he became fast friends with Frankie, a Chihuahua Eldad has also rescued from a sewer.
