Dogs are considered to be faithful creatures. But you probably haven’t come across a story such as this! This dog is called Lilica, and she lives in Sao Carlos, Brazil in a junkyard. She was abandoned in front of the junkyard, then the owner Neile Vania Antonio took her in. They live together in the junkyard with all their varied family members that include dogs, cats, chickens, and a mule.
Lilica has been disappearing every night for the last three years. She endangers her life and goes on a four mile journey along a busy highway to visit Lucia Helena de Souza. Lucia takes care of stray animals and she arranged to prepare food in a bag for Lilica, but didn’t know that she would take it home to her family.
The first time Lucia fed Lilica, she ate what she wanted, but then took the open bag and started running with it. Food was falling from the bag. So the next night, in the spot where Lucia always meet Lilica now, she tied the bag and Lilica said thank you, and left. So one night, Lucie decided to follow Lilica and found out why she carries this food home.
Lilica is an exceptional and devoted dog! Now she essentially has two owners who love her, but they live four miles apart. Both Neile and Lucia take care of Lilica and they each have their own crew of animals to care for as well. Lilica carries this bag of food four miles, so she can give it to her friends. What a special dog. I think we can all learn a lot from her.
