A Raccoon Jumps On A Dog’s Back. This Interaction Is Not What You Would Expect.

When it comes to reputation, raccoons have one of the worst ones. They are generally considered nasty animals that raid people’s garbage and will attack cats if they get too close. “Stay Away” seems to be the general consensus of what people should do if they see one in the nearby area. While it’s true that raccoons can be vicious, like other animals, it depends on what age you see them. Take this video, for example

The screen shows one of the oddest pairings that I’ve ever seen: a raccoon and a large black dog. Their names are Jonathon and Roxy and they are the cutest animal friends that I have ever seen. The only other time I’ve seen a video of a racoon and a dog was when a man grabbed a raccoon that was attacking his dog and flung him down some stairs. This was a very nice change of pace.

Jonathon lost his mommy when he was very young, but now the year-plus-old raccoon is doing great with his surrogate mommy, Roxy. They get along famously, as you can see in the video. He hugs her neck, even resting on her side and climbs all over her. She’s an older dog, but she loves having this little critter as company. Jonathon even gets to roam around the house. This is not a garbage-seeking animal at all… he may even think he’s a dog at this point.

Of course, since this is 2017, Jonathon has an Instagram account with nearly 14,000 followers – with me included. He’s quite friendly and docile, even letting his human foster mommy hold him in the air. I have to warn you – make sure you’re alone the first time you look at the account, otherwise people will keep glancing at you as you go “AWWWWWWWW!” at every single photo. May he and Roxy have lifelong friendship.

Seriously, I was going through the 300+ photos on Instagram and just melting. What do you think of all this? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section. Also, please “Like” us on Facebook.
